Les aménagements hydroélectriques de Jiji

Pas à pas vers le but ultime de la production de 49,5MW, le Projet Jiji-Mulembwe attire l’attention de la population burundaise, des autorités et des partenaires au développement dont les efforts de mobilisation ne s’estompent pas malgré le retard encaissé dans la mise en oeuvre du projet. Le barrage Jiji est désormais sorti du silence du sous-sol et s’érige somptueusement aux côtés du dessableur pour constituer ensemble avec ce filtre d’eau, la pièce maîtresse de la retenue d’eau du barrage. D’ailleurs, à l’heure actuelle, les deux ouvrages sont liés intimement par une jonction dite “prise d’eau” et les deux ne font désormais qu’un.

A l’issu des travaux de construction du barrage proprement dit, un lac de retenu d’eau sera constitué en amont du barrage. Les eaux de la retenue seront acheminées à travers le dessableur, après épuration, puis transitant par la galerie du tunnel qui est maintenant excavée à totalité; 1100m du sous-sol, avec à la sortie, un début de chute par la conduite forcée dont le matériel est en cours de fabrication. Des socles et des massifs d’encrage destnés à supporter les conduites sont en cours de construction.

 

En aval de la conduite forcée, la construction de la maison de la centrale Jiji s’achemine à sa fin. Le building devant abriter le matériel hydroélectrique est en cours de finalisation. Des murs, une charpente puis une toiture, voici une condition sine qua none pour le début de l’installation de divers matériel destiné à la production de l’énergie, en particulier les turbines responsables de cette production. La centrale hydroélectrique de Jiji peut maintenant être comptée parmi les ouvrages majeurs réalisés à côté du dessableur et du tunnel.

 

Les aménagements hydroélectriques de Mulembwe

  Sur la rivière Mulembwe, les aménagements hydroélectriques sont en cours de construction. Un dessableur en cours de finalisation, une rive droite qui donne du fil à retordre au constructeur dans le processus de stabilisation, une consolidation du portail d’entrée du tunnel qui retarde les travaux d’excavation du tunnel de Mulembwe. L’excavation continue seulement par la sortie du tunnel et la distance réalisée avoisine actuellement les trois cent mettres.  Nul doute pour conclure que le temps qui reste à la finalisation de ce tunnel d’un millier de mettres est une période relativement longue aux regards de l’urgence que revêt la réalisation de ce barrage. Des efforts sont consentis pour assainir le site du barrage dont les assises restent encore à définir pour le début effectif de la construction.

Plus en avant, une conduite forcée est en cours de construction, tandis que le matériel y relatif est en préparation dans un atelier spécialisé. La centrale de Mulembwe à son tour connaît un avancement considérable aussi. La powerhouse s’apprête à recevoir la charpente dont le matériel est disponible sur site. 

 

Les postes haute tension et moyenne tension HT/MT

Les postes HT/MT sont en cours de construction; fouilles de fondations et bétonnage des socles sont les activités clé en cours sur ce volet non moins important du projet, à l’exception du poste RN1 où le montage des équipements a déjà commencé.  Les effets du retard sont imminents. 

Les lignes haute tension et moyenne tension HT/MT

Des pylônes pour le transoprt de l’énergie sont déjà érigés sur les collines surplombant la ville de Bujumbura tandis que les fouilles des fondations, le bétonnage suivent un rythme ininterrompu sur tout le parcours des lignes moyenne et haute tension en construction. Les stocks de matériel électrique sont garnis à cet effet: câbles électriques haute et moyenne tension ainsi que le matériel pour la charpente des pylônes. Une longeur de 72 km doit être jonchée de pylônes de Kabezi à la route nationale numéro 1, de Kabezi à Horezo en traversant les communes de Kanyosha, Nyabiraba, Mugongomanga, Mukike, Gisozi, Mugamba, Buyengero, Songa et Bururi.

Tous ces ouvrages militent à conclure que le projet Jiji-Mulembwe s’achemine pas à pas vers son objectif, celui de produire les 49,5MW à partir des deux centrales hydroélectriques de Jiji et de Mulembwe par le jeu d’ensemble des ouvrages en construction. Le temsp de l’attente n’est plus en faveur du désespoir.
