L’œil vigilant des partenaires du PHJIMU

Le Président de la République du Burundi SE le Général Major Evariste Ndayishimiye visite de bonheur les chantiers du Projet Hydroélectrique de Jiji-Mulembwe (PHJIMU), en ce mardi 1er mars 2022. Très matinal comme d’habitude, cet illustre hôte arrivé à l’improviste croise les ouvriers du Constructeur, les membres de l’Unité d’exécution du Projet sur la PJB, route menant au chantier du barrage Jiji. Les membres du Comité de Pilotage du projet, dont le DG REGIDESO, qui effectuaient leur descente mensuelle depuis le 28 février ont participé aussi à la visite du Chef de l’Etat.

Le Président de la République a tenu à se rendre compte lui-même de la situation des travaux sur différents sites comme, le barrage, le tunnel et la centrale de Jiji ainsi qu’au site du barrage de Mulembwe. Tout au long de la visite, il a posé les questions d’éclaircissement au Constructeur et à l’Ingénieur-Conseil avant d’en faire une synthèse lors d’une réunion récapitulative à huit clos.

D’après la presse présidentielle sur Twitter, le Président de la République « exige que des mesures supplémentaires soient prises pour que les travaux qui affichent un retard (à 42%) reprennent et soient finalisés dans les délais (2023) ».

La visite du N°1 burundais traduit donc bien le souci de voir le PHJIMU avancer suivant les règles de l’art et donne un élan nouveau aux acteurs de ce projet d’envergure nationale ayant la finalité de produire 49,5MW à la fin décembre 2023.
